Born as Ng Duk Sun in Foshan on Jan 14, 1917 he changed his name to So Duk Sun to escape communist China and moved to Hong Kong in 1949.

His Grandfather Ng Chun Sow trained him followed by his father Ng Yat-fay before learning from his Sihung Ip Man who taught him first in China and for the 20 years that he lived in Hong Kong.
He moved to Korea and began teaching in 1970.
Master Ng was by profession an Acupuncturist, herbalist and Chinese Restaurant owner and manager who had his kwoon upstairs from his clinic and restaurant and taught Wing Chun.
He passed away on 11 June 1995 in Singapore.
