Full Lineage:
Leung Yee Tai > Dr. Leung Jan (Leung Tak Wing) > Leung Bik > Ip Man 葉問 (Yip Gai-Man) > Stanley Chan
Grandmaster Stanley Chan (Chan Kam-Ming) was born in Shanghi, China, in 1938.
He trained with Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin, in Wing Chun in the early 60's and then later became a private student of Great Grandmaster Ip Man in the 60's, because one of his friend's fathers was old friends with Ip Man, so when Ip Man had essentially stopped teaching students Chan and his friends were taken as private students of Ip Man.
During the time that he was training with Ip Man he met Great Grandmaster Fung Chun and learned the Pien San (Slant style) Wing Chun system from him as well.
He moved to California, USA in the 70's and has been teaching private lessons in classical Ip Man style Wing Chun combined with the best sections of Pien San Wing Chun on & off even today.
Top sifus taught by him include his nephew Grandmaster Greg Yau, Sifu Barber Bill Hernan (Deceased) and former 49er football player Sifu Kevin Shea. All three were also students of Grandmaster Chris Chan (Chan Kam-Shing, Stanley's younger brother.
Stanley prefers to keep a low profile by teaching privately.
